A Nigerian man named David Chukwunonso Allison has filed a lawsuit against the plane’s pilot Peter Waxtan (of Florida), manufacturer of the Dana Air plane (Boeing) and the plane’s engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. and United Technologies Corp. Allison’s lawsuit claims that the plane and its engines were defective and “unreasonably dangerous,” leading to the death of his wife of two years, Joy Allison.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Nine Americans were among those killed when the plane (with 153 passengers on board) hit a two story residential building in Lagos.
Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority has suspended the operating license of Dana Air – the airline whose plane crashed on Sunday in a Lagos suburb.
“Their operational licence has been suspended until we carry out their recertification,” spokesman Sam Adurogboye told the BBC.
The Senate also suspended the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Harold Demuren.

This is probably the greatest or most famous hostage rescue in history. This is the story of the June 1976 Mossad rescue of Israeli hostages whose Air France plane was hijacked by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and taken to Idi Amin’s Uganda in 1976. The hostages were rescued from Entebbe after a spectacular Mossad operation during which Lt-Colonel Yonatan “Yoni” Netanyahu (older brother of Israel’s current Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu) was killed.
This is gripping viewing. Watch on…..
