Africa’s Chance of Success at the World Cup

The World Cup is just a few days away. As we prepare for the kick off, the above article assesses each African team’s chances of success.  In my opinion, Ivory Coast have the most talented squad of the African teams. However their talisman Drogba is injured.  Ghana are missing Michael Essien and Nigeria are missing his Chelsea team mate John Obi Mikel. South Africa are probably the weakest of the African teams.

Even though this is Africa’s first World Cup at “home” and with 6 African teams competing for the first time, any of the six sides: Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and South Africa, will do well to qualify from their group and make it to the second round. All six teams have been given very tough group games.
