Yar’Adua is NOT Dead. Yar’Adua Breaks His Silence

Well it turns out that the rumours of President Umaru Yar’Adua being dead or brain damaged are not true. He has finally broken his silence and publicly spoken for the first time in a month and a half. He spoke to the BBC by telephone to explain:

“At the moment I am undergoing treatment, and I’m getting better from the treatment. I hope that very soon there will be tremendous progress, which will allow me to get back home…I wish, at this stage, to thank all Nigerians for their prayers for my good health, and for their prayers for the nation.”

He sounded very frail during the interview with a breaking voice, and coughed while talking.

  1. No, no, no. You simply mustn’t contribute/subscribe to this nonsense. If you listen to Yar’Adua’s voice on youtube and such, it is completely distinct from the attempt of the fool that tried to impersonate him for the BBC interview. One must do their due research on extremely senstitive matters like this and also ask critical questions, such as:

    i) why did “Yar’Adua” choose day 50 to speak? Could it have anything to do the protest in Abuja? (google “Save Nigeria Group”)
ii) why did he address the BBC and not state media? why haven’t there been prior or subsequent attempts for him to address Nigerians directly?
iii) why didn’t he comment on pressing matters and instead trivialized his “presidency” by wishing the Super Eagles well?
iv) how did the BBC verify they were speaking to the man himself? did they bother to verify?

It hurts my intelligence to even type this. I’m sick and tired of this culture of impunity and it’ll be a sad day for Nigeria when BBC has to withdraw this report, after which they’ll probably go on to paint Nigerians as a bunch of liars and fraudsters. This evil government must go back to hell.
