The Speaker’s persistent focus and emphasis on adherance to the law
and due process is very refreshing.
He is also correct about the commendable performance of the
judiciary in Nigeria in recent years.
The Nigerian judiciary has shown itself to be independent, principled and
courageous. This is unprecedented throughout Africa.
In my view, the most significant political development in Nigeria’s
recent history has been the stellar performance of the Nigerian judiciary.
This development has very positive implications for the consolidation
and entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.
