Nigeria Seeks Foreign Support Against Boko Haram

In another belated move, Nigeria has sought support from the neighbouring country of Niger in its fight against Boko Haram. As the Nigerian government presurises Boko haram with a military offensive, there are fears that Boko Haram fighters (and civilian refugees fleeing the fighting) will flee across the border into Nigeria’s long and porous 1,500KM border with Niger.
The Nigerian army as in the past also claimed that several Boko Haram members are from other countries like Chad and Niger.
