Thomas Sankara: Burkina Faso’s “Upright Man”


Profile of former President of Burkina Faso (1983 to 1987) Thomas Sankara. Sankara was viewed as a charismatic or revolutionary figure. He was assassinated in a coup led by his former colleague Blaise Campaore.

    Very interesting to see that his killer is still in office. How Africa rewards betrayal.Incidentally I just finished reading a book about Africa that also mentioned the assassination of Thomas Sankara and the man behind it. The late Ivorian president was fingered in the killing as well.
    Africa is indeed blessed.I mean very blessed.Campaore is a modern day Mobutu.I see a parallel between this assassination and that of Lumumba.
